RN ICU

WCS Healthcare is actively seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a premier academic medical center in New York City. This opportunity is within a highly specialized Pediatric Critical Care Unit, providing care to critically ill pediatric and adolescent patients in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Position Details

• Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Critical Care
• Specialty: PICU / Pediatric ICU / Critical Care
• Schedule: Nights
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Commitment: 13 shifts per month (3x12 schedule equivalent)
• Location: New York City
• Employment Type: Contract / Travel / Local Contract

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric and adolescent patients requiring intensive monitoring and critical care interventions.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor complex patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status.
• Administer medications, treatments, blood products, and IV therapies according to established protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.

Requirements

• Active RN license in good standing.
• BLS Certification required.
• PALS Certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric ICU and/or Critical Care nursing experience.
• Experience with high-acuity patients, ventilators, vasoactive drips, and critical care monitoring preferred.
• Strong communication, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills.
